D&D Miniatures is a skirmish game able to be played straight from the box. The new edition rules are based on the 4th edition role-playing rules. Battles can be linked in role-playing games, wargaming campaigns or as stand-alone battles. Play one of the factions in an epic struggle for the dungeon and its treasure. Designed for easy and fast play, the pre-painted miniatures come with a card that contains special rules for the figures; so there is no need to lug around heavy rulebooks. Dean and Rob ran the game. Between D&D games, the players enjoyed a few hands of Magic the GatheringTM. |

FRENCH AND INDIAN WARS |

Drums across the Susquehanna. During the Anglo-French contest for the Ohio Country in 1758, French and Indians are raiding the Pennsylvania frontier in an effort to drive out the British colonials. Hard-bitten frontier settlers in the British militia, Scots-Irish soldiers, Iriquois tribesmen supporting the British, men from Delaware fighting against them to win their lands back and French Coureur des Bois struggling to expel the English usurpers from the frontier all came together in this scenario. Using a variation of the “This Very Ground” skirmish rules by Iron Ivan Games with 28mm figures by the Perry brother’s, Old Glory, Minifigs, RSM and Eureka Miniatures. It might not have been Henry Fonda in “Drums Along The Mohawk” but it was a number of valiant guests that starred in “Drums Along The Susquehanna” on the day. Greg Blake of Cannon Fodder Miniatures from Bendigo was once again our special guest, with help from Maurice Northey. |

STAR WARS MINIATURES |

The Star Wars battle this year was for the ice planet of Hoth; from the opening scenes of The Empire Strikes Back. Star Wars Miniatures is a skirmish game able to be played straight from the box; representing battles in the Star Wars Universe. You can be young Luke Skywalker taking on the evil Empire, or Darth Vader attempting to stamp out the Rebel Alliance. The pre-painted miniatures can be also used for role-playing. Based on the popular movies and books, the pre-painted miniatures come with a card that contains special rules for the figures. Olliver, Kryal & Jon used cotton wool to good effect to simulate the ice planet. |
