The ground scale used in Epic: Armageddon permits a game of manoeuvre to occur on a normal sized table. With each formation being roughly the equivalent of a typical 40k army and these being able to move around the table without necessarily being in combat from the first turn, it is clear that Epic caters for a game of much larger scope than is possible with a 40k game.
A Game of ManoeuvreThe other benefit of the scale is that it permits the use of Titans and other mega vehicles that have no place in a 40k game. Each army has access to Titans and Gargants or even armoured dinosaurs! These vehicles and other constructs stand many times taller than a man – up to a few hundred metres and carry weapons that can level cities with a few shots. They also carry close combat weapons designed specifically to defeat other Titans. The game includes rules for combat between these vehicles and most games will feature one or more of these giant war machines. |
