WORLD WAR 1

World War 1 is not always the most popular period for wargaming. This is often because of the apparent static nature of trench warfare on the Western Front. But there are many good skirmish rules for trench raids; including the Gallipoli campaign. And the sweeping maneouvres on the Eastern Front and in the Middle East provides fascination for wargamers.

Aerial warfare is popular, though, with aces such as von Richthofen, Fonck, Bishop, Udet, Mannock, Collishaw, McCudden, Beauchamp-Proctor, Löwenhardt, MacLaren, Guynemer, Barker, Jacobs, Voss, Little, McElroy, Dallas, Rumey, Ball, Berthold, Loerzer, Bäumer, Hazell and Nungesser.
